The City of Myrtle Beach plans to install decorative rails on Ocean Boulevard
Here’s how pedestrian safety rails might look on Ocean Boulevard… The City of Myrtle Beach plans to install decorative pedestrian safety rails on Ocean Boulevard this fiscal year. Plans call for railings on both sides of the street from Seventh Avenue North to 12th Avenue North. One proposed design – pictured here – is in place in front of Plyler Park.
These railings would be a permanent safety feature, replacing the temporary “bicycle racks” used at certain times of the year. Many cities install such decorative sidewalk rails to safely separate pedestrians and vehicles.
