Corner Icon  The Community Appearance Board is Myrtle Beach's board of architectural review.  It consists of nine members appointed to four year terms by City Council.  At least five members must be residents of the city.  The Construction Services Department provides staff assistance to the CAB.


Blue Box  This committee is composed of staff members who review plans submitted for the next Community Appearance Board meeting.  They check to see whether the plans are complete and meet all technical requirements.

Signs, Lighting & Building Permit Applications

 

1.   Sugar Life Ice Cream & Candy Bar – 1509 South Kings Highway: Requests reworking of existing freestanding sign, adding a 2’ x 5’ CEVMS for an overall height of 18’ and a conceptual / final review for faηade alterations. (Sign Works and Miller Design Services)

 

2.   The Villas at Oleander – Oleander Drive:  Requests installation of (1) 5’5” x 13’8” monument sign with an overall height of 5’5” and (1) 5’8” x 8’ monument sign with an overall height of 5’8” and approval of building lighting and site lighting. Requests a conceptual review for a 65,568 square foot (49) unit senior apartment building with parking, dumpster enclosure, and landscaping. (Progress Carolina, LLC and ASI Engineering, Inc.)

 

Building Permit Applications

 

1.   North Industrial Park Lot 47&48 (Evan Lindsay Holdings, LLC) – 1604 North American Way:  Requests a final review for awning revisions to previously approved plans for a new building. (Evan Lindsay Holdings, LLC)

 

2.   Eagles Warehouse – US Hwy 501 PIN# 42515030032:  Requests a conceptual review for a 67,950 square foot warehouse/office with parking lot. (Nick Nye, Architect) (Previously heard on 10/05/2017)

 

3.   Friendship Baptist church – 608 6th Avenue North:  Requests a conceptual / final review for a 300 square foot porte-cochere. (Owner)
