ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT – Downtown Redevelopment Corporation (DRC) Provides administrative and technical support to the DRC staff and board, keeps track of available downtown properties and property values; meets with national developers, downtown district businesses and property owners, and public to explain DRC programs, procedures, city codes, and customer service goals, conducts research, discuss current plans, administers grant programs, and other special projects. Prepares and processes a variety of complex reports, writes various grant proposals and applications, performs recordkeeping, maintains files, composes memos and letters, other duties as assigned. Requires high school or equivalent, plus college level coursework in business administration, planning, or related field, three years experience in office administration, and clerical work, or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience, plus valid driver’s license. Salary Range: $31,350 - $48,906/year, plus benefits. Application Deadline: 5:00 p.m., September 15, 2008 RECREATION ASSISTANT – Cultural & Leisure Services Department/ Recreation Division. Canal Recreation Center. Temporary/Part-Time Position. Looking for high energy, assertive individual able to multitask at busy front desk area. Duties include, but are not limited to: answering telephone; registering patrons; collecting fees and cleaning work area, and assists in all areas of the Recreation Division as needed. Prefer CPR Certified. Must be able to lift 50lb regularly this position involves setting up and breaking down tables and chairs for functions of 200 + throughout the week and during weekend rentals. Requires knowledge of computers and a variety of public recreational activities and ability to maintain effective relationship with citizens of all age groups. Must have a high school education, be able to work evenings & weekends, and possess a valid DL. Rate: $9.33/hour. No benefits. Position open until filled. INSTRUCTOR II – Cultural & Leisure Services Department/Base Recreation Center. Ballroom, Shag/Swing Dance Instructor. Temporary/Part-Time. Responsible for teaching dance lessons. Requires a fun, energetic person with the ability to instruct ballroom dance lessons to include salsa, tango and cha cha along with many other known dances. The instructor will also teach Shag/Swing lessons which includes the basic step, male and female turns, a side by side turn and a start. Rate: $11.71/Hour. No Benefits. Position open until filled.
