INVENTORY CLERKFinance Department/Purchasing-Warehouse Division.  Performs responsible storeroom/warehouse duties requisitioning, reviewing, issuing and inventorying supplies and equipment, make deliveries as required, prepare and assist in City Auctions, participates in buying common goods and reordering supplies.  Requires general knowledge of storeroom and inventory procedures and practices; ability to keep accurate records of items received, issued and on hand; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships; and skill in the operation of a variety of office and warehouse equipment.  Must be able to perform physical activities such as heavy lifting.  Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and related experience be at least 18 years old, and valid driver’s license. Salary Range: $25,900 - $40,404/year, plus benefits.  Application deadline:  5:00 p.m., June 3, 2013. 

GROUNDSKEEPERCultural & Leisure Services Department Temporary/Full Time Position (June – October). Requires some experience in basic ground maintenance, picking up litter and/or janitorial service. Duties include litter control, cleaning bathrooms and other related duties as assigned for the Boardwalk. Must be able to work at a steady pace in adverse weather conditions; be dependable; and follow specific oral instructions.  Work schedule is 5 days a week, 3 pm – 11pm and to include weekends. Must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver’s license. Rate:  $9.90/hour.  No Benefits. Application deadline:  5:00 p.m., June 3, 2013. 

RECREATION ASSISTANTCultural & Leisure Services Department/ Recreation Division. Canal Recreation Center. Temporary/Part-Time Position.  Looking for high energy, assertive individual able to multitask at busy front desk area. Duties include, but are not limited to:  answering telephone; registering patrons; collecting fees and cleaning work area, teaches fitness classes and youth recreation programs, and assists in all areas of the Recreation Division as needed.  Prefer CPR Certified.  Must be able to lift 50lb regularly this position involves setting up and breaking down tables and chairs for functions of 200 + throughout the week and during weekend rentals.   Requires knowledge of computers and a variety of public recreational activities and ability to maintain effective relationship with citizens of all age groups. Must have a high school education, be able to work evenings & weekends, be at least 18 years old and possess a valid DL.  Rate:  $9.90/hour.  No benefits. Position open until filled.

LINE MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN PW Department/Sewer Division.  Operates Vactor Truck which cleans sewer lines and maintains flow, inspect sewer manholes; perform smoke and dye tests, and control traffic at work sites; may be required to work overtime and/or be on call.  Requires education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school.  Must have mechanical aptitude and be in good physical condition, be at least 18 years old, possess a valid CDL or the ability to obtain within 90 days and have a good driving record. Salary Range:  $30,315 - $47,293/yearly, plus benefits. Application deadline:  5:00 p.m., May 28, 2013. 

RECREATION ASSISTANTCultural & Leisure Services Dept./Crabtree Gym. Temp/Part-Time position. Duties include but are not limited to working a busy front desk, monitoring the gym, assisting w/weight training, and teaching Zumba, aerobic and fitness classes. Prefer CPR Certified. Req. knowledge of computers & a variety of public recreational activities; HS or equiv; be at least 18 years old, valid DL & be able to work mornings or nights & weekends.  Rate:  $9.90/hour.  No Benefits.  Application deadline:  5:00 p.m., May 28, 2013.  

INSTRUCTOR IICultural & Leisure Services Department/Myrtle Beach Tennis Center. Temporary-Part/Time Position.  Looking for highly motivated tennis professional to assist with the Myrtle Beach Tennis Center Junior Summer Camp from June 10 – August 16, 2013. Prefer background in tennis, extensive experience working with kids and be CPR Certified. Must be available to work Monday – Friday from 9:30 a.m. – Noon, be at least 18 years old and a valid driver’s license.  Rate: $12.42/hour. No Benefits.  Position open until filled.

TENNIS  PRO INSTRUCTOR I & II Cultural & Leisure Services Dept./Myrtle Beach Tennis Center.  Temporary-Part/Time.  Looking for highly motivated tennis professional to assist and help grow the participation at the Tennis Center. Experience with age 10 and under tennis, adult clinics, team practices, USTA sanctioned tournaments, private lesson instruction and special events are preferred. Responsibilities will also include assisting with developing new programs as well as performing light maintenance tasks around the center. Prefer CPR Certified. Must possess a current USPTA/PTR certification and be available to work nights, weekends and a variety of shifts, HS or equiv, be at least 18 years old and a valid driver’s license. Rate: Instructor I: (Group Clinic Rate:  $24/hour.)  Instructor II: (Private Lesson Rate:  $30/hour). No Benefits. Position open until filled.   

LIFEGUARD Cultural & Leisure Services Department/ Recreation Division.  Pepper Geddings Recreation Center/Canal Street Recreation Center. Temporary/Part-Time positions.   Requires current lifeguard certification, be at least 16 years old, valid driver’s license and available to work a variety of hours including evenings and weekends.  Rate:  $9.90/hour.  No Benefits.   Position open until filled.

 

SWIM INSTRUCTOR Cultural and Leisure Services Department/Aquatics Division.  Temporary/Part-Time position. Looking for a high energy, safety conscious person with knowledge of competitive swimming.  Duties include, but are not limited to; Swim Coach-instructing and supervising practices, creating daily workouts, and making/answering phone calls.  Responsible for teaching swimming skills to all ages. Requires water safety instructor certification; be at least 17 years old, valid driver’s license and must be available to work a variety of hours including weekends.  Rate:  $10.93/hour.  No Benefits.  Position open until filled.
