The city's 24-hour public information
channel, MBTV, airs on cable networks in the Myrtle Beach area.
MBTV features city-related news, events, activities and recreational
programs. Employment opportunities and
public meeting schedules are updated weekly,
and Myrtle Beach City Council meetings are broadcast live. MBTV is
available on the Time Warner and HTC cable systems. "Myrtle Beach Now," a series of video programs about city services and facilities, is the newest feature on MBTV. Two programs are produced monthly and added to the schedule. Current topics for "Myrtle Beach Now" include Pepper Geddings Recreation Center and Bicycle and Pedestrian Safety. Upcoming videos focus on Canal Street Recreation Center and the historic Myrtle Beach Colored School Museum and Education Center. Programs vary in length, but average 15 minutes. "Myrtle Beach Now" programs alternate throughout the day. Here's the current broadcast schedule for MBTV video programming. Other video programs, such as the recent 50-year retrospective on Hurricane Hazel, will be broadcast as they become available.
