Chapin Memorial Library eliminates single-use plastic bags in an effort to keep our city beautiful

Single-use plastic bags will no longer be provided for Chapin Memorial Library patrons at the Customer Service Desk.  Library visitors are encouraged to bring reusable bags.

Environmentally conscience, reusable tote bags will be available for purchase from the Friends of the Chapin Memorial Library.  The cost is $2 per bag, with 100% of proceeds benefitting to the Friends of Chapin Memorial Library organization.  The bags can be used for the beach or the grocery store, but Chapin Library MB staff love to see the bags filled with books!

What is the "Friends of the Chapin Memorial Library" organization?  It is a non-profit 501(c)(3) volunteer organization established in January 1987.  The group is made up of citizens who share the belief that a strong public library is an essential part to our community's success.  The organization sponsors activities, provides financial support, awards a local high school senior with the Shirley W. Boone Scholarship and much more.
