City of Myrtle Beach searches for Technology Advisory Group members

The Technology Advisory Group, a newly formed committee of the City of Myrtle Beach, needs qualified applicants who are eager to serve!
Technology Advisory Group

Known as TAG, the board will have nine to 11 members, with dedicated seats for individuals representing Horry-Georgetown Technical College and Coastal Carolina University.  TAG’s purpose is to serve in an advisory capacity to City Council and city officials on various topics, including…

  • Opportunities to employ technology more creatively to efficiently and effectively deliver municipal services.
  • Opportunities to more effectively engage start-up and existing tech firms.
  • Other innovative or creative concepts that do not necessarily emphasize the use of new technology (e.g. “maker spaces,” arts collaborations, etc.).
  • Other matters referred to TAG by Council or the City Manager.

Appointee Qualifications:  Ideally, residents or business owners in the city would comprise the majority of the committee, although exceptionally qualified individuals will strongly be considered.  In selecting members, Council seeks to appoint individuals with proven leadership experience and expertise in the area of technology and/or innovation.

To be considered for this new committee, send a brief biography and letter of interest to the City Clerk, P.O. Box 2468, Myrtle Beach, SC 29578.  Or, bring it to Myrtle Beach City Hall, 937 Broadway Street.  City Council will make the appointments at a future meeting.
