Planning Department

             The Planning Department formulates recommended goals, plans, policies and ordinances that provide orderly growth and development for Myrtle Beach. The department also assists in preparing a capital improvement program.  Jack Walker is the Planning Director.

     Experienced planners are available to assist with rezoning, annexation, subdivision of property, park design and neighborhood planning.  Everyone is invited to attend Planning Commission meetings to learn about the many activities underway in Myrtle Beach.  The following applications and forms will be helpful.

     The city's Comprehensive Plan also is available on-line, as is the  2005-2010 Myrtle Beach Housing and Community Development Consolidated Plan.  For service assistance dial (843) 918-1050.
