All Police Officers, Detention Officers and Telecommunicators must complete Basic Law Enforcement Training as mandated by the South Carolina Department of Public Safety. Upon completion of the Basic Law Enforcement course, officers will be assigned to a specific division with a Field Training Officer. All new Police, Detention, and TCO employees must complete a twelve- (12) month probationary period. Periodic in-service training will also be given to employees on a regular basis.
