There are several sections within the Patrol Division with each having
their own specific responsibilities.
-
The Road Patrol
officers
are frequently the first to respond to calls for service throughout the
city. They are the most visible police presence in our community and it
is their job to provide primary law enforcement services to the public
24 hours each and every day of the year.
-
Our Traffic Section is charged with ensuring that all streets of this
city are as safe as possible for its citizens by enforcing all
motor vehicle laws and removing unsafe drivers and vehicles from our
roadways. The Traffic Section also investigates accidents within
the city limits. If your looking for a copy of an accident report,
visit the Traffic Section page.
-
Our Beach Patrol officers cover 11 miles of our beaches
365 days a year, 24 hours a day. The Beach Patrol’s primary objectives
are law enforcement, prevent drownings, rescue distressed swimmers and
provide immediate on-scene care to ill or injured persons.
-
Our Special Operations section is responsible for our downtown Boulevard
area. This section is mostly a walking beat however, some officers
are assigned GEM cars or bikes.
-
The Street Crimes section works in
connection with our Narcotics/Vice section at targeting areas where the
city has seen an increase in criminal activity.
