|
South Carolina State Code Section 40-54-20 provides that no dealer as defined herein shall operate in the State of South Carolina unless he first obtains a permit to engage in the business of purchasing precious metals from the local law enforcement agency and operates only from a permanent place of business. No dealer shall operate upon public property nor from a vehicle, flea market, hotel room or similar temporary location.
The Myrtle Beach Police Department’s Regulatory Unit is responsible for processing the applications for all businesses engaged in the purchasing of precious metals. Those businesses interested in applying for this permit must complete the procedures below and the business must be located within the city limits of Myrtle Beach. Please ensure that you provide the listed documentation as required for this application:

Should you have questions regarding the application process, jurisdiction or the purchasing of precious metals, please contact PFC David Clever at (843) 918-1804. This permit is valid for one year from the issue date. All businesses must re-submit the application and fee 10 days prior to the expiration of your permit.
