The Downtown Redevelopment Corporation's mission is to initiate and facilitate the revitalization of downtown Myrtle Beach. This will be accomplished with the establishment of strategic aesthetic, functional and business development goals; the addition and enhancement of public infrastructure; the creation of economic and other incentive programs; and through partnerships with the private investment and development sectors. The Corporation In March 1999, City Council created the Myrtle Beach Downtown Redevelopment Corporation (D.R.C.) to implement the 1998 Pavilion Area Master Plan. The D.R.C. is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation with an 11-member Board of Directors. The members are:
