The following organizations and groups are involved in the creation of the Withers Swash District Plan.
Residents from adjacent and neighboring communities are invited to attend 3 key workshops for community input, conceptual strategies, and overall feedback.
Business owners from three key commercial corridors (3rd Avenue South, King’s Hwy., and Broadway) and partial adjacent corridors (Main Street and Hwy. 501) can contribute to analyzing economic incompatibilities and potential benefits to the commercial corridors through 3 important workshops
Relevant organizations with expertise about environmental issues related to Wither’s Swash will advise the consultant team. Organizations included are: Coastal Carolina University, The Audubon Society, Sierra Club, OCRM, Surfrider Foundation, Green Keepers, Wither’s Estuary Community Collaborative, USGBC, DHEC, DNR and the US Army Corp of Engineers.
Numerous governmental departments and organizations will give input into the process, including Fire, Police, Construction Services, Cultural and Leisure Services, Public Works, Planning, the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, Santee Cooper and the Downtown Redevelopment Corporation.
