Resident Parking Decal Program
To learn more about city meters, visit our Parking Meters webpage.
The City of Myrtle Beach offers an online registration system for Resident Parking Decals for the 2021-2022 period. This system is only available to city residents who have a personal vehicle or motorcycle that "lives" in the city limits and on which city property taxes have been paid.
To use this online parking decal registration, you must have your most recent Horry County Vehicle Paid Tax Receipt and your current South Carolina Vehicle Registration Card. If you have a qualifying golf cart, you must also have your SC Golf Cart permit number, issued by the SC Department of Motor Vehicles. Once complete, parking decals will be mailed to your registered address. Note that each decal is for a specific vehicle and is not interchangeable or transferrable.
CLICK HERE TO BEGIN THE REGISTRATION PROCESS. PLEASE FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS. HAVE YOUR CURRENT VEHICLE TAX RECEIPT READY, ALONG WITH YOUR VEHICLE REGISTRATION CARD.
HELPFUL TIPS: First, enter your name EXACTLY AS IT APPEARS ON THE VEHICLE TAX RECEIPT.
At the moment, vehicle property tax data in this system is current from November 1, 2021 through July 31, 2022, but will be updated monthly. If you paid your vehicle taxes after July 31, you may take your tax receipt and vehicle registration to the Reef Parking Office in the Pavilion Parking Garage, corner of Kings Highway and Ninth Avenue North (entrance on Ninth Avenue North) to receive a parking decal, or wait until the most recent monthly data is posted here. If you do not have your vehicle tax receipt, you can look it up on Horry County's Tax Payments & Receipts website.
If any of the following apply, you WILL NOT be able to use the online registration system, but may apply for your decal in person at the Reef Parking Office, 914 North Kings Highway, between 9:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
- I no longer have the vehicle listed on my Horry County Vehicle Paid Tax Receipt.
- I am a new resident of the City of Myrtle Beach and did not pay city vehicle property tax in the current calendar year.
- I moved into the City of Myrtle Beach after I paid my Horry County Vehicle Property Tax.
HOW TO APPLY IN-PERSON: When applying in person, you must bring proof that you are a City of Myrtle Beach resident AND that you have paid City of Myrtle Beach vehicle property tax on the vehicle for which you are seeking a decal. You will need to present the following documents:
- Horry County Vehicle Paid Tax Receipt for current year, showing City of Myrtle Beach tax.
- SC Vehicle Registration Card
- Your SC Driver's License; your residence address must match your Horry County Vehicle Paid Tax Receipt.
2021-2022 decals are valid until December 31, 2022, and are NOT transferrable. Replacement decals due to windshield damage, transfer of ownership, loss of decal or other cause are available for $20 each, upon presentation of valid property tax and registration information. When selling or trading your vehicle, if you remove the parking decal from the old vehicle and present it when applying for a new decal, you can avoid the $20 replacement charge.
