Myrtle Beach’s oceanfront boardwalk is getting a facelift, thanks to new deck boards that replace the original Southern yellow pine from a dozen years ago. The new, wood-look decking is both more durable and more colorful. The linear pattern adds visual appeal to the boardwalk, as you’ll see in the photos below. The $3.7 million resurfacing project extends from Plyler Park to Eighth Avenue North. Work is occurring in three phases with completion expected by late summer. The boardwalk remains open during the re-decking, although portions are closed to foot traffic while work is underway.
