Myrtle Beach residents took home 700 free trees at the farmers’ market on Friday, April 7. The tree giveaway at Myrtle’s Market was a big success, as people gathered to choose from red maples and a variety of oak trees. The maples were most popular, with all 700 free trees claimed by 11:15 a.m.. The giveaway was sponsored by the Arbor Day Foundation and SageSure Insurance, who provided the trees, while the city provided the location and publicity. It also was opening day for the farmers’ market for the 2023 season.
