Photos of the Week
Nearly 200 historical markers remember the people, places and planes of the former Myrtle Beach Air Force Base. The property has since been transformed into the Market Common district, but we actively remember the role that Myrtle Beach played in World War II, Korea, Vietnam, the Cuban Missile Crisis the Persian Gulf conflicts and other duty assignments. Civilians, too, such as Fred Nash, who pulled a pilot from his downed plane on the beach, are part of the history captured here.
