Myrtle Beach’s Parks, Recreation and Sports Tourism Department hosted Summer Beach Camp for 20 sixth-through-eighth graders at the end of June. They gathered on the beach for a week to learn surfing and other water skills and beach activities. Recreation Leader Aaron Frobase was the “big kid in charge,” along with other staff. The Fire Department’s Ocean Rescue Division was on hand to teach water and beach safety. Everyone enjoyed some fun-in-the-sun, catching waves, building sand castles and learning about beach sports and water safety. This is one of the most popular summer camps offered by the city’s Recreation Division.
