Myrtle Beach’s annual Veterans Day Ceremony at the Convention Center honored our veterans on the 100th anniversary of the armistice which ended World War I. That Armistice Day became Veterans Day in 1954. The local event is sponsored by the Military Appreciation Committee. It featured music by Festive Brass, the Missing Man Table presented by Rolling Thunder SC Chapter 3 and a wreath presentation by the Aynor High School Junior ROTC. Guest speaker for the day was retired US Air Force Colonel Buddy Styers, currently the executive director of the Myrtle Beach Air Force Base Redevelopment Authority. Thank you to our veterans and to everyone who made the ceremony possible.
