The Garden of Hope on Carver Street was the place to be Sunday for the sixth annual Tree Lighting Ceremony.  The Myrtle Beach High School Show Choir and Long Bay Theatre entertained an audience of nearly 500.  Smiles galore on children’s faces greeted Santa Claus, who arrived on a red fire truck, courtesy of the Myrtle Beach Fire Department.  The annual event is hosted by Neighborhood Services and grows each year.  In addition to meeting Mr. and Mrs. Claus and sitting in Santa’s lap, every boy and girl received a gift.  Hot chocolate, cookies, cider and hot dogs were available, too.  The annual tree lighting event is hosted by the Neighborhood Services Department.
