South Carolina's Annual Tax Free Weekend is August 3-5


During the annual Sales Tax Holiday, August 3-5, shoppers will not pay any sales tax on qualifying items. The Tax Free Weekend begins at 12:01 a.m., Friday, August 3, and ends at midnight, Sunday, August 5. The 6% state sales and use tax, as well as any applicable local sales and use tax (such as the school district’s Capital Improvements Tax and the city’s one percent Tourism Development Fee) will not be imposed on qualifying items such as clothing, shoes, school supplies, book bags, computers, printers, bedspreads and linens.
