Four members of the Myrtle Beach Fire Department were deployed to assist Louisiana residents following Hurricane Laura

Four members of the Myrtle Beach Fire Department are back on the job in the city after returning from assisting Louisiana residents following Hurricane Laura. The storm made landfall as a Category 4 hurricane at the end of August, with winds greater than 110 miles per hour. While deployed, Battalion Chief Marvin Hickman, Captain Ken Chapman, Firefighter Mike Rapp and Firefighter Matt Ballard (not pictured) conducted damage assessments, completed human searches, cleared roadways and investigated infrastructure. During Tuesday’s Myrtle Beach City Council meeting, Council and community members applauded the four for the outstanding service they provided to Louisiana. Well done Myrtle Beach Fire Department!
