A pirate ship is taking shape this month at Gardens by the Sea Park. New pirate-themed playground equipment is being installed at the oceanfront park, replacing the original play structure. When complete, the playground will include the pirate ship, two dolphin spring riders and other pieces of equipment. Gardens by the Sea is on North Ocean Boulevard at the southern end of the cabana section. This is one of two park renovations underway in December. The other is Chapin Park, where new playground equipment also will be installed in coming weeks.
