Here’s an update on the Martin Luther King, Jr., Grand Strand Freedom Week…. Most activities have been converted to virtual events; Monday’s Drum Major Awards Breakfast has been postponed to a later date in light of COVID-19 safety. See below or the attached flyer for details.

Free drive-through COVID-19 testing is offered from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Saturday, January 16, at Mt. Olive A.M.E. Church on Carver Street. Note also that the Job Fair at Crabtree Memorial Gymnasium is still scheduled for 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 20. 5:00 p.m., Friday, January 15 – Welcome Ceremony will be virtual, with recorded greetings from the mayor, etc.
9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Saturday, January 16 – Free drive-through COVID-19 testing from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Mt. Olive A.M.E. Church.
4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Sunday – Ecumenical Service will be virtual; broadcast from First United Methodist Church.
Monday, January 18 – Awards Breakfast postponed to a later date.
Tuesday, January 19 – All three events (economic development summit, small business government procurement workshop and law enforcement bias training workshop) will be virtual.
11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 20 – Job Fair at Crabtree Memorial Gym; masks required, along with social distancing.
