Myrtle Beach Fire Department answered more than 13,000 calls for service during 2020

Did you know... That the Myrtle Beach Fire Department answered 13,044 calls for service during 2020? Of those, 8,213 were for medical calls (EMS and Rescue, including car wrecks), by far the most common reason. Of the remaining calls, 1,526 were false alarms; 1,745 were general service calls; 730 were “good intent” calls; 129 were for hazardous materials; and only 110 were for actual structure fires. The Fire Department also conducted 3,791 property inspections during the calendar year, discovering 4,460 code violations.
