Pay attention to Myrtle Beach golf cart rules before going for a drive

State law regulates the use of golf carts on public streets in Myrtle Beach and elsewhere....
South Carolina regulates how golf carts may be used on public streets. A golf cart must have a permit from the SC DMV and be insured. A driver’s license is required to operate one, and the golf cart cannot be driven at night or on primary streets, such as Kings Highway. Golf carts only may be driven during daylight hours, up to four miles from the registered address and on secondary streets where the speed limit is 35 miles per hour or less.
