Beware of lane closures and water outages Tuesday and Wednesday in Myrtle Beach

Look for lane closures and water outages Tuesday and Wednesday, February 1-2, as Myrtle Beach crews repair a water line valve and a couple of leaks. A water line leak on 29th Avenue North, at the intersection of US 17, will be repaired Tuesday, February 1. The leak is at the median on 29th Avenue North, so westbound turning lanes will be shifted over. Expect lane detours and water shut-offs along Seaboard Street, near Mr. Joe White Avenue, next Wednesday, February 2. Beginning at 4:00 a.m., city crews will replace a broken water valve at the intersection and repair two water leaks on Seaboard Street, just south of Mr. Joe White Avenue. The work should be completed by 8:00 a.m., although several properties in the area will be without water while the repairs are underway. Because the system pressure will be down, those properties have been advised to boil water until samples come back from testing.
