Myrtle Beach city utility customers will notice a slight change in these bills

AUGUST 3, 2022

Myrtle Beach city utility customers will notice a slight increase in their bills for water, sewer and stormwater service starting in August. New rates approved in this year’s budget will be reflected in your utility bills this month. Water and sewer charges increase slightly (4.0 and 5.0 percent, respectively), largely due to wholesale cost hikes passed on by Grand Strand Water and Sewer Authority. The city’s stormwater fee also increases by $1.67 per month, per ERU (equivalent residential unit). For a typical family using 4,000 gallons of water per month, these fee increases – combined – add $4.25 per month to your utility bill. Solid waste fees did not change this year.
