Turf install at new Futrell Park playground expected next week

MARCH 9, 2023

Progress... Myrtle Beach's newest playground is well on its way to completion. The playground equipment at Futrell Park has been completely replaced with bright green, blue and orange equipment for your little ones. The area to the right features musical additions and shorter slides. The area to the left of the photo you could say is for the "big kids." The larger slide is part of a new set-up including a netted climbing feature, ground climbing features and walking bridges. A swing set is not pictured, but part of the playground as well. Our Parks, Recreation and Sports Tourism (PRST) Department says turf should be installed next week.

The playground is across the sidewalk from Futrell Park's new splash pad. Both are expected to open to the public in April. You can find Futrell Park at 1053 Futrell Drive, next to Myrtle Beach Fire Station No. 1.
