"Do I need a permit to hold a yard sale?"

One of our FAQs at this time of year is, "Do I need a permit to hold a yard sale?" And the answer is... No permit is required for a residential yard sale within the city limits of Myrtle Beach. The city allows up to four residential yard sales per year (one per quarter).

However, the city does not allow yard sales on commercial properties or at business locations; special permission would be needed for that sort of activity. You may post one yard sale sign on the proper...ty itself. We do not allow signs in the public right-of-way, on utility poles, in medians or elsewhere.
