Ocean outfall maintenance in Myrtle Beach

Salmons Dredging Corporation will begin mobilizing a specialized jackup rig from North Charleston along the Myrtle Beach coastline this weekend.  The device, shown here, will conduct maintenance activities on our four deepwater ocean outfalls – 25th Avenue South, Fourth Avenue North, 14thAvenue North and 53rd Avenue North.  Funding for this million-dollar maintenance project is coming from the state of South Carolina.  The work will begin at 25th Avenue South and move northward.  The jackup rig is self-elevating to provide a stable operating environment in the ocean.  The crew will remain onsite and will not come onshore during the anticipated 30-35 day marine project.  That timeline may change, depending on the weather.
