Sports Tourism continues to thrive in Myrtle Beach

Sports Tourism continues to thrive in Myrtle Beach, with dance, baseball and football teams visiting this weekend.  We have thousands of visiting athletes and family members in town! 

Star Talent Productions hosts National Finals 2019 at the Myrtle Beach Sports Center, with an estimated 800 dancers participating in the fun.  The competition continues through Sunday, June 23. 

 The Youth Baseball Nationals welcomes 45 teams for a seven-day stay, with Opening Ceremonies beginning Friday evening at the Grand Park Athletic Complex.  Baseball games will take place daily, with the final championship game set for Thursday, June 27.  

The Youth Softball Nationals also welcomes 35 teams for a seven day stay, with Opening Ceremonies beginning Friday evening at the Grand Park Athletic Complex.  Softball games will take place daily at the Ned Donkle Field Complex, with the final championship game set for Thursday, June 27.  

Combined, the youth baseball and softball teams represent 20 states and Puerto Rico (AR, CA, FL, GA, IL, IN, KY, MD, MI, MS, NC, NH, NJ, OH, OK, PA, TN, TX, VA and WI).

A new youth football event debuts today, Friday, June 21.  Showtime Elite Showcase welcomes 560 players!  The youth athletes (second through 8th graders) practice on Friday, with games set for Saturday and Sunday at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium and Ashley Booth Field. 

 And, beginning Saturday, the Myrtle Beach Convention Center hosts Dancemaker’s Stay the Path Tour and National Finals.  The competition, convention and classes continue through Thursday, June 27.  An anticipated 1,500 dancers will participate, along with dance instructors and their families.
