Myrtle Beach's Downtown Historic District application is under consideration for the National Register of Historic Places!

The meeting takes place at 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 26, in the Wachovia Room at the South Carolina Archives and History Center, 8301 Parklane Road, in Columbia. The Historic District nomination includes portions of Main Street, Oak Street, Broadway Street, North Kings High...way and Eighth and Ninth Avenues North. In total, 18 contributing buildings and eight non-contributing buildings are under review. If approved, the Myrtle Beach Downtown Historic District will continue the process to achieve designation on the National Register of Historic Places. This allows contributing buildings to utilize State and Federal Tax Credits.
