Soil borings performed off-shore in Myrtle Beach

If you see a jack-up rig off-shore, don’t be alarmed. Aries Marine and S&ME partnered with the City of Myrtle Beach Public Works Department to bring a jack-up rig to Myrtle Beach to perform soil borings. Soil boring is a technique used to survey soil by taking several shallow cores out of the sediment. The work is being done in preparation for the design of the future 24th Avenue North Ocean Outfall project. Crews will be working off-shore, so you can still enjoy the beach.
