Myrtle Beach city offices are open Tuesday, some public meetings cancelled

Myrtle Beach city offices are open today (Tuesday, September 3), and city staff members are busy gearing up for effects from Hurricane Dorian later this week. However, all public meetings scheduled for this week have been cancelled. Those cancellations include:

• The Bicycle and Pedestrian Committee – cancelled
• The Seniors Advisory Committee – cancelled
• City Council’s Special Meeting and Workshop – cancelled
• The Community Appearance Board – cancelled
• Sandygate Neighborhood Watch Meeting – cancelled

Chapin Memorial library is closed today (Tuesday). All parks and playgrounds will close Wednesday, including both Barc Parcs.  Youth and Adult Sports activities are cancelled, this week.
Myrtle's Market will be closed Wednesday and Friday.  The market will re-open Saturday, September 7.

Dedication ceremonies for Phase Two of Savannah’s Playground have been rescheduled for 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 11. At this time, the filing period for this fall’s City Council election is still set to close at 12:00 p.m., Friday, September 6. We will advise if any change occurs in that deadline. Again, City Hall and other facilities are open today as usual.
