DMV offers help for Myrtle Beach residents who don't have their REAL ID yet

Beginning October 1, 2020, South Carolinians who wish to board a domestic, commercial flight, enter a secure federal building, or visit a military installation must have a REAL ID driver's license or identification card issued by the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles. The DMV has scheduled tours all over the state to help citizens get the REAL ID in hand before fall 2020.

The DMV will set up a mobile office to help citizens get the new documentation, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 6, at the Myrtle Beach Train Depot, 851 Broadway Street. Representatives from the Voter’s Registration office will also be on hand to demonstrate how to use the REAL ID, when it’s time to head to the polls. Here’s a list of documents you’ll need to bring to get your REAL ID:

• Proof of Identity (Birth Certificate or Valid US Passport)
• Proof of Social Security number
• Two proofs of address
• Proof of all legal name changes
