Updated tax calculator available

Check out this updated tax calculator, http://mbtaxcalc.com/, which shows how much primary homeowners in the City of Myrtle Beach saved last year on their property taxes, thanks to the credit from the Tourism Development Fee. Just enter the taxable appraised value of your property where shown (no commas in the number), and click “calculate.”

In addition to figuring the city property taxes and the value of the TDF credit, the program also shows taxes for Horry County and Horry County Schools (after the state sales tax credit). For example, on a primary residence inside the city valued at $200,000, the homeowner paid just $127.20 in property taxes to the city after receiving a $504 TDF credit.

The calculations are based upon current millage rates exclusively for owner-occupied residences within the City of Myrtle Beach. Thanks to the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce for creating and updating this tax calculator each year.
