Myrtle Beach Police Department has 13 new officers

The Myrtle Beach Police Department welcomed 13 new officers during oath-of-office ceremonies Friday afternoon at the Ted C. Collins Law Enforcement Center. Police Chief Amy Prock welcomed the new officers and their relatives to “our police family.” The officers just completed training at the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy. Receiving their badges today were Police Officers Justin Barrick (military pin – Army National Guard), Haley Battles, Chase Damore (military pin – Air Force), Lucas Gray, Jacob Hancher, Sean Hurd (class Marksmanship Award), Austin King, John Lively (class Challenge Run Ribbon), Timothy McDonald, Timothy Munday (class J.P. Strom Award for highest academic average), Lyla Odell (military pin – Army), Shawn Queen (military pin – Coast Guard) and Brandon Sonko. Congratulations to our newest Myrtle Beach police officers!
