Myrtle Beach Police Chief Amy Prock provided the following information

The Governor of South Carolina and the City of Myrtle Beach have issued several emergency orders due to the Coronavirus Outbreak. These orders are designed to protect the public and slow the spread of the virus. It is our sincere desire that all members of our community will voluntarily comply with the orders. If everyone does their part, we can get back to enjoying everything the city has to offer sooner, rather than later.

For individuals who put their own wants and needs above the safety of others and willfully disobey the orders, then we will take enforcement action. Enforcement may include receiving a ticket or arrest. Any person who violates any provision of any order shall, upon conviction, be punished by a fine not exceeding $100, imprisonment for a term not exceeding 30 days, or both for each violation.

We are here to help. If you have any questions about any of the orders or if you wish to report a violation, please call the city’s information line at 843-918-INFO (4636). For more information, visit our Coronavirus Information page at https://www.cityofmyrtlebeach.com/coronavirus/index.php.
