City of Myrtle Beach awarded grant to expand short and long range disaster recovery plan

The City of Myrtle Beach is awarded U.S. Economic Development Administration grant to expand the short and long range disaster recovery plan. The $37,500 grant requires a $37,500 match from the city organization, and the funds will be used to create a more elaborate recovery plan as part of Myrtle Beach's Emergency Preparedness Plan.

Why is this grant helpful? The City of Myrtle Beach’s emergency planning includes a collaborative process to ensure the protection of our comm...unity. This grant enables the city to enact a disaster recovery plan that focuses on the health and safety needs beyond rescue and reconstruction. The plan also helps in the emergency funding request process with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and other organizations.
