City Manager John Pedersen to issues Emergency Order No. 8, authorizing a "soft opening period" from May 1 through May 15 for accommodations businesses

The Myrtle Beach City Council today directed City Manager John Pedersen to issue Emergency Order No. 8, authorizing a “soft opening period” from May 1 through May 15. Hotels and other short-term rentals can accommodate reservations on the books as of today, April 30, but cannot accept new reservations or guests for the period of May 1-15. However, new reservations may be accepted now for May 16 and beyond.

The emergency order also includes sanitation and hygiene guidelines for hotels, guests and staff members to follow. It further proposes a Myrtle Beach Coronavirus Recovery Task Force, to be appointed by May 12.
