No weekly fireworks for summer 2020

We regret to report that fireworks are a casualty of COVID-19 this year in Myrtle Beach. We’ve had several questions lately about the regular Wednesday night fireworks that the Oceanfront Merchants Association and the city sponsored in years past. Unfortunately, due to an extremely tight budget and concerns about proper social distancing by the public, the weekly fireworks, including the July 4th fireworks show, are not part of this summer’s schedule. That’s a savings of approximately $125,000, which is what the fireworks from the Second Avenue Pier normally cost to produce. We hope to bring fireworks back for summer of 2021.
