What should we expect from Hurricane Dorian in Myrtle Beach…?

Dorian is moving towards the South Carolina coast. The forecast shows a slight shift to the west. Rain bans are expected to form over Myrtle Beach Wednesday afternoon. Strong tropical storm force winds will begin Thursday morning followed by hurricane-force winds of possibly 75 miles per hour Thursday afternoon into the evening. Peak sustained winds could reach 50 to 80 miles per hour, with projected wind gusts 65 to 95 miles per hour. Storm surge predictions range from four to eight feet. Conditions are expected to improve Thursday night. Hurricane Dorian should be out of our area, Friday. Remember, these are predictions and Mother Nature could change at any time. Be safe!
