The City of Myrtle Beach posts the CAFR and PAFR online for all to see

Myrtle Beach’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) and the Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR) for the fiscal year that ended June 30, 2019, are now available.

The CAFR is prepared in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and includes audited financial statements. It provides detai...led financial and supplementary information, including full disclosure of material events, both financial and non-financial in nature. The CAFR received a favorable audit opinion from the independent auditor, confirming that our financial statements are presented in conformity with GAAP.

While extremely informative, the CAFR tends to be technical and complex. That’s where the PAFR comes in. The Popular Annual Financial Report is summary of the city’s finances in an easier-to-read format, without the use of technical accounting terms or excessive detail.

You’ll find both documents, along with other budget information, at https://www.cityofmyrtlebeach.com/departments/financial_management_and_reporting.php. Here’s a direct link to the PAFR, if you’re interested in learning more about the city’s finances for the last fiscal year: https://www.cityofmyrtlebeach.com/departments/docs/PAFR%202019.pdf.
