Here's the Labor Day Weekend Operational Plan from the Myrtle Beach Police Department

 

• Expect an increased presence of law enforcement personnel in the city during the Labor Day holiday weekend.

• Pedestrian barricades will be placed along Ocean Blvd from 29th Ave N to 29th Ave S to keep pedestrians safe on the sidewalk. The pedestrian barricades will be placed along the curb line on Monday, August 31, 2020, and will be removed beginning Monday, September 7, 2020. Crosswalks and driveways will remain open for access.

• Beginning at 6:00 a.m., Friday, September 4, all traffic on Ocean Boulevard is one way. Vehicles will travel southbound, from 29th Ave S to 29th Ave N. The northbound lane is reserved for public safety officials. This traffic plan will conclude at 6:00 a.m., Monday, September 7.

• The following avenues have been designated as emergency lanes: 16th Ave N, 8th Ave N, 6th Ave S, and 17th Ave S. Only public safety officials will be allowed to utilize these avenues.

• Golf carts are not allowed on Ocean Blvd beginning at 12:01 a.m., Friday, September 4, until Monday, September 7, when the traffic control devices are removed from the roadway.

• Mopeds are prohibited from Ocean Boulevard south of 29th Avenue North during the following dates and times:

8:00 p.m. Thursday 9/3/2020 – 8:00 a.m. Friday 9/4/2020
8:00 p.m. Friday 9/4/2020 - 8:00 a.m. Saturday 9/5/2020
8:00 p.m. Saturday 9/5/2020 – 8:00 a.m. Sunday 9/6/2020
8:00 p.m. Sunday 9/6/2020 - until all the traffic control devices on Ocean Boulevard are removed on Monday, 9/7/2020.
