Beginning October 1, recreation centers welcome new members

Myrtle Beach's three recreation centers will welcome new members again, starting Thursday, October 1. New memberships were suspended back in the spring due to COVID-19. Our recreation centers are operating at reduced hours, but are open with restrictions. Also Thursday, the swimming pools at Pepper Geddings and Mary C. Canty Recreation Center will reopen on a limited basis and with capacity restrictions. Finally, dues for existing recreation center members will resume October 1. The City of Myrtle Beach suspended dues during the spring and summer, since the centers were closed and unavailable for a while as a precaution against the coronavirus.
