Do not climb or walk on sand dunes

Just a reminder that it’s illegal in Myrtle Beach to climb or walk on the sand dunes or to break or damage the sea oats or beach grass for any reason. The sand dunes are the first line of defense in the event of a hurricane. The sand fencing and sea grasses help the dunes grow. Metal detecting is permitted on the beach, but not in the dunes or in the beach access street-ends. Metal detecting is not allowed in parks or on other city property.
