Eight spots left for 2023 MyBeach 101 class

NOVEMBER 30, 2022

Applications are now available for the Neighborhood Services Department’s MyBeach 101 Citizens Academy! Classes take place on Thursday evenings, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., at the Historic Myrtle Beach Colored School and Education Center, 900 Dunbar Street. The 2023 session begins January 26, 2023. Each year, Neighborhood Services hosts a general government series that provides a behind-the-scenes look at the City of Myrtle Beach’s daily operations. The eight-session program gives participants a unique experience and a chance to learn about the city’s daily operations. Sessions include appearances by department directors, city staff and elected officials, along with the history of Myrtle Beach and how each of the departments within the city operates, including Fire, Financial Services, Police and Public Works. Spaces are limited to 28 participants.
Residents who live or work within Myrtle Beach city limits are given first priority; county residents will be accepted is space is available. Participants will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis; the deadline is December 30.
