Myrtle Beach is recipient of 2023 Cultural Diversity Award
Good news to share... The City of Myrtle Beach is the recipient of a 2023 Cultural Diversity Award from the National League of Cities. Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Director Kelvin Waites accepted the award on behalf of the city during the 2023 Congressional City Conference in Washington, D.C., last week.
The awards honor community leadership in developing creative and effective programs to improve cultural diversity. Submissions were grouped by population and evaluated for creativity, community impact and program scope. The City of Myrtle Beach was one of four communities selected for the 2023 awards, chosen from more than 50 communities across the country that submitted applications. Myrtle Beach was the winner among cities with a population of 50,000 or less.
