Registration opens today, April 10, for four big summer PRST programs

Registration opens today for these Myrtle Beach recreation programs!

�� Summer Swim League: A beginner, competitive swim league is for kids ages five to 18. It begins Monday, June 5, and ends Friday, July 21. Swimmers must be able to swim at least one length of the pool (25 yards) on their front and back, equivalent to a swim lesson level three. Here is the schedule breakdown:
- Great White Sharks – 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. at Pepper Geddings Recreation Center.
- Hammerhead Sharks – 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Pepper Geddings Recreation Center.
- Goblin Sharks – 400 to 5:00 p.m. at Mary C. Canty Recreation Center.
- Sand Sharks – 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Pepper Geddings Recreation Center.
The cost of registration is $74 per child for city residents or $125 for non-city residents. �� Summer Adult Sports Basketball League: Teams will have games at Crabtree Memorial Gym on Mondays and Wednesdays, beginning Monday, June 5. Participants must be 18 or older by June 5 to participate. There is a maximum of 12 teams in the league. Here are the important dates:
- Registration opens Monday, April 10.
- Rosters are due Monday, May 8.
- Fees are due Monday, May 22.
- A coaches meeting will be held Monday, May 22, at Crabtree Memorial Gym (time TBD).
- The league begins Monday, June 5.
League fees will be decided after rosters are submitted. The deposit is $100 per team. Schedules will be made after fees are paid. ��Camp Atlantis: Do your kids want to learn how to be a mermaid? Sign them up for Myrtle Beach’s “Camp Atlantis” mermaid camp! Participants will learn how to kick and glide through the water like mermaids and make ocean-themed crafts. Kids ages six to 10 are welcome to join our aquatics staff at the Pepper Geddings Recreation Center swimming pool Wednesday through Friday, July 5 through 7. Participants must pass a swim test of 25 yards before registering. Lunch and snacks are not provided. Mermaids may wish to bring their own monofin, although it is not required. Drop-off begins at 9:00 a.m. and mermaids must be picked up at 2:00 p.m. Cost of registration is $40 for city residents or $70 for non-city residents. Space is limited, so be sure to set a reminder! Sign your child(ren) up today for swim lessons with one of Myrtle Beach's swim instructors at Pepper Geddings or Mary C. Canty Recreation Centers. Session one swim lessons at Mary C. Canty Recreation Center will be Mondays through Thursdays from Monday, June 5, to Thursday, June 15. Session two swim lessons at Mary C. Canty Recreation Center will be from Monday, June 20, to Thursday, June 29.

Swimming programs are designed to create better swimmers at all levels and ages, from six months and older. Levels are separated as:
• Infant/Toddler -- Ages six months to three years. Cost is $26 for city resident or $45 for non-city resident.
• Preschool – Ages three to five. Cost is $26 for city resident or $45 for non-city resident.
• Level – Ages six to 18. Cost is $35 for city resident or $60 for non-city resident.
• Adult – Ages 18 or more. Cost is $35 for city resident or $60 for non-city resident.
