This week is National Hurricane Preparedness Week.  Are you ready?

Are yOu #HurricaneReady? This week, April 30-May 6, is National Hurricane Preparedness Week. Hurricane season begins June 1 in Myrtle Beach. What can you do now to be ready?

- Know your zone

- Know your evacuation route

- Prepare your home and property

- Keep an emergency supply kit on hand

- Keep a radio

- Make a plan for your pet(s)

- Stay informed

 

Everyone should be aware of the evacuation zones, #KnowYouZones

Zone A – All areas east of U.S. Business 17 up to the intersection with US 17. All areas east of U.S. 17 to the northern county line.

Zone B – All Areas south of Highway 707 and Longwood Drive, including all areas in Longwood Plantation to the Waccamaw River. All areas east of US 17 Bypass to US 17 and all areas east of US 17 to the northern county line.

Zone C – All areas between Highway 701 and Highway 544, south of Brown’s Chapel Avenue and Highway 814, plus all areas east of Highway 31 to Highway 90. All areas east of Highway 90 to US 17 to the northern county line.

If you don’t live in an evacuation zone, you should still be prepared to be self-sufficient for up to two weeks after an emergency!
